General Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What do I need to know about PDF files?
A: PDF stands for Portable Document Format. These filenames usually end with .pdf or .PDF. Adobe Acrobat supplies a free utility called Acrobat Reader that will allow you to open and read a .pdf file. The Reader does NOT, however, allow you to make any changes to the file before saving it.
- You can download and save a copy of the .pdf file to your machine
- You can NOT make changes to the file before saving it. It will automatically revert to an original copy.
- If you own a licensed copy of the Adobe Acrobat Writer you may be allowed to make changes providing other prevention measures have not been built into the original .pdf file.
