Soar Like An Eagle at Thomas K. Finletter

“I serve as a Principal to co-design our community for liberation through an equity and social justice lens.”

April Brown has been an educator since 2001. She grew up in North Philadelphia’s Richard Allen Projects, attending Spring Garden Elementary School, Stoddart Fleisher Middle School, and Bodine High School for International Affairs. Before becoming a principal, April served as a Teacher, Professional Development Specialist, Adjunct Professor, and Assistant Principal. In 2018-2019 April was a participant in the Philadelphia Academy of School Leaders’ Performance Partner program, and she received the Lindback Award for Distinguished Principal Leadership in 2019. In 2020, April was awarded the Neubauer Fellowship in Educational Leadership for the Philadelphia Academy of School Leaders.

Lauren Harrow has been an educator since 2002.  She began her teaching career as a 4th and 5th-grade teacher at McClure Elementary School in Philadelphia. Ms. Harrow has spent 21 years serving the students of Philadelphia as a teacher, school-based teacher leader, and assistant principal. She has spent the last 7 years here at Finletter.  Ms. Harrow believes that students are the center of all school-related decisions and has committed to ensuring the students of Finletter have access and opportunity to reach their potential.

 

 



 

Welcome our new Assistant Principal for K-3, Alexis Montgomery.

Ms. Montgomery has been an educator since 2015. She grew up in the Olney neighborhood, having attended J.S. Jenks Elementary School and Science Leadership Academy. She started her educational career within the Baltimore County Public School System. Prior to her new role as Assistant Principal for K-3, Alexis has served as a Teacher and a Professional Learning Specialist. Alexis has a mission to impact change and student achievement by providing students with access to equitable learning experiences. She looks forward to making a positive impact in the lives of Finletter students.
