The mission of the Murrell Dobbins Area Vocational Technical High School is to provide
its students with a broad array of instructional, support, and enrichment programs which are
designed to enable students to successfully complete high school while attaining sufficient
academic and vocational credits and skills to pursue post-secondary education and/or become
gainfully employed. This is accomplished with the overarching goal of graduating productive,
contributing citizens.
To this end, Dobbins strives to offer a complete academic program which encourages
students to pursue the highest level of academic achievement; to provide a comprehensive
vocational education program with a full complement of both instructional and transition-towork
services; to provide staff development activities designed to improve the quality of
instruction, and to conduct ongoing planning and assessment activities involving both school
staff and the greater community, with the aim or restructuring the delivery of student services
to meet the demands of the technology explosion, the changing nature of the workplace, and
the changing nature of the concept of “employability”.
