Afterschool Arts Clubs
- Overview and philosophy: The Home and School in
cooperation with teachers and staff offer a variety of afterschool
arts clubs throughout the academic year. Over the years this
has included visual arts, ceramics, drama, dance and storytelling.
We seek to build community partnerships working with local artists
from the Woodmere Art Museum, Allens Lane Art Center and Hatch
Dance Theater among others.
- Student eligibility and selection criteria:All students are eligible. However
class size is limited. Clubs are typically offered to specific grades as appropriate.
- Special events: We welcome special events and any opportunity
for the students to show of their work. In the past, special
events have included performances and exhibits.
- Special committments or equipment: Students are expected
to attend Arts Clubs once they sign up. If for any reason
students can no longer attend they are encouraged to let the
teaching artist know.
