Computer Instruction
Our school is an IMS (Instructional Management System) School. The
IMS progam is a global consortium designed to foster knowledge of and comfort with
computer technology.
All students are scheduled for at least one period per week in our computer
lab, which are intended to enhance the classroom curriculum. Students learn research
skills, word processing, database structure and use, graphic organizers, presentation programs (like Powerpoint) and much more.
The computer lab and all classrooms are netowrked and have internet capability,
and the school is wireless for laptop use. Mcintosh computers are in the lab and every
classroom as at least one computer, as well as several computers in the library which
are used for the Read 180 program. Computer-aided instruction is also used to enhance
the math curriculum using First in Math.
The District utilizes filter software to help keep students from accessing inappropriate websites.
