Physical Education
The Physical Education program is required of all students at Jenks, and
includes activities designed to
- Develop strength, flexibility, gross motor coordination and hand-eye coordination through many activities
- interact in a positive way with peers and teachers, promoting good sportsmanship
- develop positive self-esteem through movement
- develop body and spatial awareness through movement
- develop socially, emotionally, and physically through physical activities, and
- stress the importance of taking care of one's body and the importance of
being in good physical condition through physical fitness tests in the fall and in the spring
Health Education is taught by Jenks' full-time PE teacher for grades 5-8. Classroom
teachers teach health in the lower grades.
