The science program for grades K-5 focuses on appreciation for and enjoyment of the subject of science. Students experience the scientific process using hands-on activities. Students keep learning logs and records of experiments. The program also consists of increasing the students' knowledge, problem solving, cooperative learning, and performance-based assessment. The students in grades 6-8 learn a more nuanced understanding of science and the scientific method. They are urged to use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to investigate a scientific problem and then to draw conclusions after experimentation.
