Seventh / Eighth Grade Literacy Teacher

I have been in the business of educating students for over 22 years. I received my undergraduate degree in education in 1988 from the University of Pittsburgh. In 1992, I received my Master's Degree in reading from Temple University and also received a Certificate as a Reading Specialtist.
I have spent most of my teaching career employe by the School District of Philadelphi. During this time i have taught 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and Social Studies. I have also held the position of Library Media Specialtist and Interim Reading Speacialtist. I am currently a tacher of Literacy for 7th and 8th grade here at Jenks.
I became a teacher because I have a love for working with young people. I enjoy being a teacher and believe that ALL children have the ability to learn. It is my desire to create the spark that encourages my students to become lifelong learners, who strive to open doors that may have otherwise been closed to them. I TEACH BECAUSE I CARE!!
