Testing
In Accordance with national No Child Left Behind (NCLB) standards, Pennsylvania state
standards, and those of the School District of Philadelphia, Jenks students grades 1-8 are tested twice
yearly in addition to the normal curricular work. These tests are the PSSA (Pennsylvania Standard of
School Assessment), which takes place in the Fall, and the Terra Nova test, which
takes place in the Spring. Pennsylvania schools are classified as having achieved Adequate Yearly
Progress (AYP) according to the PSSA. Jenks has achieved AYP for the last three years.
