GRADES K
What an exciting two months
the Kindergarten children have been having. We are now part of a pilot
program for the FOOD TRUST.
It's a great food initiative
that teaches children how to choose healthy foods for meals and snacks.
The foods that come to the Kindergarten are for snacks three days a
week. They are from locally grown farmers. Some of the foods eaten have
been: squash, apples in every form, corn on the cob and pears. We also
hope to visit an orchard three times this year, FALL-WINTER-SPRING
,weather permitting.
The Kindergarten children have
also been experiencing lots of Literacy. Many delicious books have been
read and enjoyed.
A great MONSTER MASH was
performed by the children in assembly on October 29th to celebrate
Halloween. Parents were invited and a good time was had by all. Parents
were also invited to the rooms to enjoy snacks with their children.
Remember at this age and stage
of development all K children should be able to button buttons, snap
snaps, zip zippers and tie shoe laces.
Please practice these skills
at home.
Also all K children should know
the ALPHABET: written and read. We would like all the children to be in
GUIDED READING GROUPS and ACCELERATED READING.
We wish you all a Happy
Fall. Stay tuned for more
news.
