Academics at W. B. Saul

In addition to their agricultural studies, all W.B. Saul students take a full load of college preparatory academic courses. By graduation, students will have taken:

4 credits of English - English I-IV

3 credits of Mathematics- Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II

3 credits of Science- Biology, Chemistry, Physical Science

2 credits of World Languages

4 credits of Social Studies to include African American Studies

1.5 credits of Physical and HealthEducation

 

Honors courses are available for English, Mathematics and Science beginning in the 10th grade. Advanced Placement offerings at W.B. Saul include Literature and Environmental Science. W.B Saul also has their own chapter of the National Honor Society.

Outside of the classroom, Dual Enrollment options offered by the School District of Philadelphia provide students with the opportunity to take classes at local universities for free, while earning college credit. More information on the Dual Enrollment or College Excel is available through the W.B. Saul counselors.

Special Education students are welcome at W.B. Saul. Two full-time Special Education instructors teach academic courses, monitor IEP's and help with academic and agricultural integration. An outstanding SSA staff assists with IEP students in agricultural classes.

Students receive prep and training for standardized tests such as the PSSA's (11th grade), PSAT's aned SAT's.
