Philadelphia Regional Media and Design Competition

Each year, the Office of Educational Technology hosts a student technology competition. This year’s event, formerly known as Technology Expo & Competition opens up participation to students in grades 6-12. The virtual regional event hosted in partnership with the annual PA Media and Design Competition has taken on a new title: Philadelphia Media and Design Competition.

The Philadelphia Media and Design Competition is an exposition of student work (grades 6-12) from across the city of Philadelphia and is open to students in Philadelphia schools. Participants will demonstrate their technology and design skills using digital tools, media, and other technologies. In following the Covid Safety Protocols, this virtual event brings together students and teachers as they share ideas and have a chance to highlight their work.

Students in grades 6-12 may submit projects in 6 categories to be eligible for the Philadelphia Regional Media and Design Competition. Students with 1st place winning projects will be eligible to represent Philadelphia as a competitor at the PA State Media and Design Competition held in May.

Note: Unfortunately, due to restrictions put in place by Covid protocols and other factors, we will not be offering the local TEC categories, Digital art, Coding, and Digital movie as we have in the past to students in grades 3-5.
