The Promise of Local Control

For the first time in nearly two decades, the School District of Philadelphia is governed by a locally-appointed Board of Education. With local control, the City and School District are working more closely and intentionally together. By advancing a common set of objectives, we are improving the educational outcomes of our students.

It’s time to collectively accelerate the progress our public schools are making by working together to create great public schools that meet the needs of every current and future Philadelphia family.
