FB Live session

Dear FB Live participants,

My Facebook Live sessions have been a helpful way to share information with our District community and to hear what is on our community’s mind. A very important aspect of these sessions is the ability to share the most accurate and up-to-date information possible.

I know one of the big questions on everyone’s mind right now is the status of our plan to slowly and safely transition to hybrid learning. As I have said many times, there are many factors that will influence how, when and if we can move forward with hybrid learning, including staffing levels to support in-person learning, parent and family demand for hybrid learning, our building readiness levels and COVID-19 conditions here in Philadelphia which we know are currently rising.

We continue to monitor all of these factors and talk daily with experts at the Philadelphia Department of Public Health to help inform decisions to support everyone’s health and well-being. Those discussions are ongoing today – a day when both the City and the Commonwealth are juggling other significant issues.

Because I want to be able to provide the most accurate information possible, I am going to reschedule today’s FB Live session. This will give us the necessary time to continue to work with health experts and to review our own data as we determine what is next for our Advancing Education Safely plan. We will announce the new day and time for my FB Live event on District social media and our website.

I thank you for your patience and understanding.

Dr. Hite
