Student Design Charrette – Nov. 30
On Thursday, November 30, 2017, ninth and tenth grade students from Ben Franklin High School and Science Leadership Academy worked with Stantec in a design charrette developing ideas for their new shared spaces. Students worked in small groups, paired with an architect and a representative from SDP. Each group was assigned one of five spaces to consider in their design. Each group was provided with a floor plan of the space and all tools necessary for the exercises.
Students worked together on plans for dining and socializing spaces to use.
Quiet spaces for studying and making videos for class were a top priority for both schools.
Some SLA & BFHS students would like to see an art wall to display their artwork in the school.
Plans for outdoor spaces came up. Students are interested in planting their own trees!
