Rebuild Philadelphia –  Build a Career in Construction

Rebuild is currently launching the second recruitment cycle for our workforce development programs. This program focuses on making a highly targeted match between Rebuild’s contractors and motivated, fully vetted candidates, so we’re limiting our recruitment to those who come through Rebuild’s partner programs. Candidates interested in becoming union bricklayers, roofers, or carpenters will be prioritized, but those interested in other trades are also welcome to apply.

This program offers:

  • Accelerated placement with union contractors and/or union apprenticeships
  • Paid, part-time professional development (2x/week, early evening hours)
  • Union onboarding supports (initial dues payments, starter tools, etc.)
  • Ongoing coaching and professional supports

High school diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license
Valid child abuse clearance
Ability to pass regular drug screenings
Ability to engage in strenuous physical work

The CAPP program

…offers training and will help students get into various building trade unions. This program is free for students to enroll and participate in.

The Construction Apprentice Preparatory Program (CAPP) is a pre-apprenticeship program that instructs participants in the core skills and curriculum required to pass the Building Trades Unions Apprenticeship Exams.

Why Become A Union Apprentice?

Apprentices can earn up to 60% of the wages that licensed and trained construction professionals make, while they receive their training.
Unlike college, students work full-time while being trained for a well-paid construction trade and there’s no cost for the training – meaning no student debt!!

Apprentices are given real world, in-depth, on the job training that teaches them cutting-edge skills and the means to implement them across their careers.

Information Session June 1st from 5pm – 9pm

The minimum requirements for the program are as follows:
Must be 18 years of age
Must have a valid Driver’s License
Must have a High School Diploma or GED
Must submit and consent to initial and random drug testing
Must attend Apprentice exam prep classes twice per week

The Mayor’s Office of Youth Engagement is partnering with the Philadelphia Youth Commission & the Millennial Advisory Committee to host its first PHLYouth Summer Career Fest! This jobs & resource fair is catered specifically toward Gen-Z Philadelphians age 12-18 to support you all in finding opportunities for the summer and beyond!

In addition to all the awesome opportunities for employment, education, and volunteering – the Philadelphia Department of Public Health & the Philly Teen Vaxx Ambassadors will be joining us for a pop-up vaccination clinic to make it easier for you & your friends to #VaxUp! So – whether you need it for sports, to start your summer job, to get ready for college, or if you’re just looking forward to kicking it with your friends this summer – we’ve got you covered!
