This program prepares students with the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for higher education in various health occupations. Instruction is provided in the basic skills of the healthcare industry, for students who plan on pursuing nursing or other trained occupations after high school. In order to get ahead in studying healthcare or medicine, high school students enrolled in this program get valuable instruction in anatomy and physiology, the legal, ethical and economic aspects of health care, clinical laboratory procedures, basic health occupational skills,OSHA regulations, and infection control. Clinical education is an integral part of the program.
