McCloskey School has partnered with FirstHand, an educational initiative at the University City Science Center. 15 students in 7th and 8th grade were invited to participate in a 10 week program entitled “Polymer Play.” Every Tuesday, for 10 weeks, students spend two hours at the FirstHand Lab learning about plastics.
With access to top level scientists and cutting edge technology. Students learn about making, shaping and reusing plastics, as well as their effect on the environment and brainstorm ways to reduce their footprint.
