SENDING OUR BEST!

The FirstHand Science Crew is finishing up their residence at the University City Science Center, and are preparing for their final showcase, where they will display the unique and useful creations that they developed with bioplastic polymers. The show is Tuesday, March 10, from 10:45 to 11:30 at the Center. They have had a lot of fun and learned a lot. Who’s ready for next year?!


On Saturday, March 7, our Senior Science Olympiad team traveled to St. Joseph’s University to compete in the regional finals of the competition. The team of 6th, 7th and 8th graders have worked and studied hard to get there and it showed in their performance! Special congratulations to the Elastic Launched Glider Team of Sergio, Maya and Kaylah who placed second in their compeition and took home the silver medal!

The Junior Science Olympiad team will be heading to the School District Administrative Building on May 18 to compete with the rest of the city. They have also been working hard and are eager to show what they can do!


Our championship Scrabble Team is also on the move. Fresh from their second place victory in the Philadelphia contest, they are off to Baltimore the weekend of April 17th to compete in the Mid-Atlantic competition! These champs have come a long way to get to this place and they certainly deserve to be there. Bring home the gold!
