  • ESL Program- English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESL) instruction is an academic discipline that is designed to teach English  Learners (ELs) social and academic language skills, as well as the cultural aspects of the English language necessary to succeed in an academic environment and contribute to society. The handbook provides guidelines for educators who manage English Learner programs.

  • Bilingual/Dual Language Programs- The Dual Language Program launched in the 2014-2015 school year with instruction in two languages: English and Spanish. The handbook explains the differences between Transitional Bilingual and Dual Language Programs, for example, 50/50 Models vs. 90/10 Models.

  • Newcomer Learning Academy- The Newcomer Learning Academy is a two-year accelerated course of study for high school-aged students who have recently arrived in the U.S. The NLA Handbook details the program’s goals, policies and procedures.
