The 11th annual Give Kids Sight Day – FREE vision screenings and eyeglasses for children ages 6 through 17 – is taking place on Saturday, October 10th.  This year screenings are being provided virtually via a telehealth phone call, by appointment only.  There are 475 slots available on October 10th for these virtual screenings.  Children who do not pass the vision screening will be scheduled for an in-person exam at Wills on October 17th or 24th to determine their eyeglass prescription and to pick out two pairs of frames.

Although no child will be turned away (up to the maximum amount of 475) outreach is focused this year on families with uninsured children, and particularly immigrant families who may not be able to get their children insured under Medicaid or CHIP.  If you know of children who attend your school who do not have health insurance and would benefit from a telehealth vision screening, please have them call 215-563-5848 x21 starting Monday, September 21st to schedule an appointment.

Thank you very much.  If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to PCCY’s Sight Day Coordinator, Beth Dougherty, at gksd@pccy.org or 215-563-5848 x37.
