Viking Family,

One of the things that I love most about NEHS is that we are a school steeped in traditions.  During pre-Covid times, the week of Thanksgiving brought about lots of fun and spirited activities.  In addition to spirit week, we also held an awesome pep rally in preparation for our annual Thanksgiving Day football game against Central HS–it goes without saying that our football team has dominated for the last several years. This turkey day football game is the longest running event of its kind in the country!  We also started an all-female flag football game against Central, which we have also dominated!  To round out the week, we would host our semi-formal homecoming dance open to students in all grades.

Although we cannot be together this week in person, please rest assured that just as soon as we are able to return to school safely, we will absolutely reinstate these fun activities which distinguish our school from any other high school in the city.

I wish you and your family’s good health this Thanksgiving holiday.  Please be safe and we look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday.

Best,

Principal Crowder
