[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Senior Exit Survey is administered each spring by the Office of Research and Evaluation (ORE), in collaboration with the Office of College and Career Readiness<\/a> and the Office of Career and Technical Education<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Pennsylvania Department of Education requires school districts to offer an exit survey to all high school 12th graders to determine whether students plan to obtain additional education, seek employment, or pursue other activities post-graduation. The survey also asks students about their high school activities (including volunteering, internships, athletics, and clubs), what supports they received in preparing for college and career, and which people in their lives helped with the process. The survey is administered online and was first launched in 2014-15.<\/p>\n

Since 2016, ORE has also administered a customized exit survey for students in alternative schools, including the Educational Options Program<\/a> and Juvenile Justice schools.<\/p>\n

The primary purpose of the exit survey is to capture students\u2019 intentions after high school\u2014specifically whether they plan to obtain additional education, employment, or to pursue other activities. In fulfillment and extension of this requirement, ORE–in collaboration with the Office of College and Career Readiness<\/a> and the Office of Career and Technical Education<\/a>–has collected data on students\u2019 high school experiences and college and career supports since 2014. Since 2016, ORE has also administered a customized exit survey for students in alternative schools, including the Educational Options Program<\/a> and Juvenile Justice schools.[\/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=”Key Findings” use_theme_fonts=”yes” css=”.vc_custom_1580764494488{margin-bottom: 10px !important;}”][vc_column_text]In 2021-22, ORE received responses from 6,075 seniors at 75 District high schools, representing 66% of enrolled 12th grade students.<\/p>\n
