{"id":23642,"date":"2025-05-21T16:50:48","date_gmt":"2025-05-21T20:50:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.philasd.org\/research\/?p=23642"},"modified":"2026-02-06T16:06:13","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T21:06:13","slug":"fiscal-year-2026-budget-priorities-survey-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.philasd.org\/research\/2025\/05\/21\/fiscal-year-2026-budget-priorities-survey-results\/","title":{"rendered":"Fiscal Year 2026 Budget Priorities Survey Results"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\">[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]Each year, the School District of Philadelphia (SDP) administers a budget priorities survey to gather stakeholder feedback that will inform the next year\u2019s budget.<\/p>\n<p>The Fiscal Year 2026 Budget Priorities Survey was designed to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Capture stakeholders\u2019 priorities for the FY 2026 operating budget to inform decision-making in the context of a projected budget deficit due to the recent end of the federal COVID-19 relief grants and the effects of historic underfunding.<\/li>\n<li>In alignment with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.philasd.org\/strategicplan\/#1685536000222-4e00217f-90a6\">Accelerate Philly Strategic Action 5.8<\/a>, improve transparency and collaboration in the annual operating budget process by ensuring all stakeholders have the opportunity to provide input.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A total of 5,508 stakeholders representing 254 District schools\/programs responded to the survey.<\/p>\n<p>Key findings include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stakeholders affirmed the importance of all Accelerate Philly priority areas.<\/li>\n<li>The following six investments were all rated \u201cvery high priority\u201d by more than 50% of respondents: 1) employee salaries and benefits, 2) safety and security measures, 3) mental and behavioral health supports, 4) building maintenance, 5) curriculum\/classroom resources, and 6) programs\/services for students with disabilities.<\/li>\n<li>Teacher positions were viewed as the highest priority investment for school staffing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_btn title=&#8221;CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE REPORT&#8221; style=&#8221;gradient-custom&#8221; gradient_custom_color_1=&#8221;#0b315b&#8221; gradient_custom_color_2=&#8221;#398635&#8243; align=&#8221;center&#8221; css=&#8221;&#8221; button_block=&#8221;true&#8221; link=&#8221;url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.philasd.org%2Fresearch%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2Fsites%2F90%2F2025%2F05%2FFY2026_Budget_Priorities_Survey_Results_May_2025.pdf&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Each year, the School District of Philadelphia (SDP) administers a budget priorities survey to gather stakeholder feedback that will inform the next year\u2019s budget.
