{"id":27447,"date":"2026-06-18T14:10:02","date_gmt":"2026-06-18T18:10:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.philasd.org\/research\/?p=27447"},"modified":"2026-06-18T14:10:02","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T18:10:02","slug":"summer-programs-2025-a-summary-of-offerings-attendance-survey-results-and-recommendations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.philasd.org\/research\/2026\/06\/18\/summer-programs-2025-a-summary-of-offerings-attendance-survey-results-and-recommendations\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer Programs 2025: A summary of offerings, attendance, survey results, and recommendations"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\">[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]Each year, the School District of Philadelphia (SDP) and its partner organizations offer a variety of summer programs to ensure that students, especially those most vulnerable to experiencing summer learning loss, have the opportunity to continue learning during the summer months.<\/p>\n<p>This report provides a summary of the 2025 summer programs, including information about enrollment and attendance, student performance on Star assessments, and findings from surveys.<\/p>\n<p>Key findings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>During summer 2025, over 13,000 students attended one of 14 summer programs supported by the Office of Student Life and Innovation in the School District of Philadelphia.\n<ul>\n<li>Of these students, more than 7,500 attended at least 75% of their enrolled days, and more than 7,000 attended at least 75% of total program days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Nearly 300 Summer School students graduated after completing their coursework, and over 2,000 Summer School students recovered credits. Approximately 110 students earned university credits through either Dual Enrollment or Senior Year Only Program.<\/li>\n<li>Summer program staff generally reported satisfaction with the professional development offered and with the curriculum, materials, leadership, and facilities.<\/li>\n<li>Students reported that they generally enjoyed their summer program, that they learned new things, staff cared about them, and that they will do better in the fall because of their summer program.<\/li>\n<li>Families reported that they were pleased with the program overall, including the registration process, their student\u2019s learning, and the academic assistance students received.
