The Board introduced the proposed committee structure at its public meeting on July 9, and during the meeting Board members expressed their interest in serving as a member or chair of the committees. Board President Joyce Wilkerson made the appointments, which are subject to the final adoption of the proposed committees at the Board\u2019s next public meeting on August 16.<\/p>\n<p>Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.philasd.org\/schoolboard\/policy-committee-meetings\/\">Board of Education website<\/a> for more information on the four proposed committees and their roles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCommittees will provide us with many opportunities to partner with the Philadelphia community that we serve around key District governance matters,\u201d said Board President Wilkerson. \u201cWe are encouraging the public and all stakeholders to participate in committee meetings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Board President Wilkerson announced tentative committee appointments for each committee as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Finance and Facilities Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leticia Egea-Hinton, Co-Chairperson<\/li>\n<li>Lee Huang, Co-Chairperson<\/li>\n<li>Wayne Walker, Member<\/li>\n<li>Joyce Wilkerson, Member<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Student Achievement and Support Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chris McGinley, Co-Chairperson<\/li>\n<li>Angela McIver, Co-Chairperson<\/li>\n<li>Julia Danzy, Member<\/li>\n<li>Leticia Egea-Hinton, Member<\/li>\n<li>Mallory Fix-Lopez, Member<\/li>\n<li>Maria McColgan, Member<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Policy Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wayne Walker, Chairperson<\/li>\n<li>Julia Danzy, Member<\/li>\n<li>Lee Huang, Member<\/li>\n<li>Chris McGinley, Member<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>District Partnerships and Community Engagement Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Julia Danzy, Co-Chairperson<\/li>\n<li>Mallory Fix Lopez, Co-Chairperson<\/li>\n<li>Leticia Egea-Hinton, Member<\/li>\n<li>Maria McColgan, Member<\/li>\n<li>Angela McIver, Member<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Board President Wilkerson will also serve as ex-officio member of each committee, except the Finance and Facilities committee where she will serve as a member. Membership on the Policy Committee represents at least one chairperson from each committee to ensure alignment and collaboration across all committees.<\/p>\n<p>All committee meetings will advertised and open to the public. Meeting materials will be posted to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.philasd.org\/schoolboard\/\">Board\u2019s web page<\/a> in advance of each meeting.
