The Office of Climate and Safety helps schools implement evidence based school-wide interventions that, when successfully implemented, make a great environment for students and the staff that serve them.
Our office, lead by Deputy Chief Dr. Abigail Gray, is a central office entity that operates underneath the Office of Student Support Services and Karyn Lynch. Our office exists to support relationships, belonging, and positivity in our schools and communities.
Our office supports are directly aligned with the state School Improvement Planning process and therefore focus on supporting schools with the following state of Pennsylvania identified Essential Practices:
Essential Practice 11 : Tier 1 School-wide Climate Programming
Essential Practice 12 : Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS)
Essential Practice 13: Comprehensive Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
