MILO

Robots for Autism

Milo is a robot that serves as a highly effective therapeutic solution and intervention for improving the behavior, social, and communication skills of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Milo comes with a curriculum to help students with ASD generalize socially appropriate behaviors, communication, and social interaction. Removing barriers to learning through the use of Milo, to improve classroom and social behaviors and to increase communication skills, also resulted in significantly higher student academic functioning. In addition, improved behaviors and functioning in the classroom carried over to significantly better behaviors at home and to more advanced and meaningful communication with peers and parents.

A Milo robot is being utilized in an AS classroom in the following ten elementary schools:  Bregy, Cassidy, Kirkbride, Cramp Hopkinson, Henry, Thurgood Marshal, Greenberg, Holme, and Roosevelt.
