Deaf and Hard of Hearing Support (D/HH)
The Districts’ Deaf/Hard of Hearing (D/HH) Program offers students with hearing loss a wide range of educational services. Providing students educational opportunities using Total Communication in the least restrictive environment which could be one of our self contained classes, inclusion or a blended model. We strive to meet our students’ communication needs by providing direct instruction in the students preferred communication mode as determined on the Communication Plan.
We can provide services at the Itinerant level in the students neighborhood school or at one of our Supplemental level D/HH support programs, depending on the students educational and communication needs.
The District provides Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Sign Language Interpreters, Signing Classroom assistants as well as Audiological services and other related services when needed.
