Emotional Support Programs

The District’s Emotional Support Program offers students classified with an Emotional and Behavior Disability and a primary need of emotional support services access to the general education program academic and behavioral interventions based on the student’s individual needs. The goal is to provide these services in the least restrictive environment, in an effort to decrease problem behaviors and increase academic outcomes.

The Emotional Support Team provides direct support to teachers and school teams through training/coaching, modeling, resources (digital and printed), and professional development.

The Emotional Support Team consists of:

Director of Emotional Support Services: Dr. LaTwyne Wise

Senior Project Manager: Eboni Heyward, M.S., BCBA, LBS

Special Education Coordinators: Amanda Pointer, M.Ed. &  Maryanne Hayde, M.Ed.

The team also has Emotional Support Case Managers, Behavior Coordinators,
School Psychologists, Behavior Analysts and ABA Specialists.

Collaborating with general education teachers, parents, related service providers and outside agencies is critical to the success of students with an emotional or behavioral disability. Communicating and collaborating regularly ensures the effective implementation of programs, related services and IEP goals.
