About Bullying, Harassment and Discrimination<\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_toggle title=”What Constitutes Bullying?” custom_font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:18px|text_align:left|color:%2322779f|line_height:18px” custom_google_fonts=”font_family:Roboto%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C500%2C500italic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”” use_custom_heading=”true”]An intentional electronic, written, verbal, nonverbal, or physical act or series of acts directed at a student or students, which occurs in a school setting, as well as off-campus conduct, including online or social media conduct, that has a continuing effect on the campus, and which is severe, persistent, or pervasive and has the effect of doing any of the following:<\/p>\n
    \n
  1. Substantially interfering with a student\u2019s education;<\/li>\n
  2. Creating of a threatening school environment; or<\/li>\n
  3. Harassment includes unwelcome conduct such as graphic, written, electronic, verbal, or nonverbal acts including offensive jokes, slurs, epithets and name-calling, ridicule or mockery, insults or put-downs, offensive objects or pictures, physical assaults or threats, intimidation, sexual harassment that does not meet the specific definition within Title IX, or other conduct that may be harmful or humiliating or interfere with a person\u2019s school or school-related performance when:<\/p>\n
      \n
    1. Such conduct is subjectively and objectively offensive; and<\/li>\n
    2. So severe or pervasive that it limits or denies a person\u2019s ability to participate in or benefit<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      \nThe school-based staff person who receives reports of incidents of alleged bullying, conducts investigations, and determines whether an allegation is substantiated (or founded).<\/p>\n

      Complainant
      \n<\/strong>Any individual who is alleged to be the victim of bullying, harassment, or discrimination.<\/p>\n

      Discrimination
      \n<\/strong>To treat individuals differently or to harass or victimize based on one or more known or perceived protected classifications including race, color, ethnicity, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, ancestry, national origin, marital status, pregnancy, English language proficiency, veteran status, disability, or other protected classification. A single incident of discrimination may implicate more than one protected class.<\/p>\n

      Formal Complaint<\/strong>
      \nA document filed by a Complainant or signed by the applicable Title IX Coordinator alleging Title IX sexual harassment and requesting that the District investigate the allegation.<\/p>\n

      Respondent<\/strong>
      \nAny individual who is alleged to be the perpetrator of bullying, harassment or discrimination.<\/p>\n

      Supportive Measures
      \n<\/strong>Interventions for Complainants, Respondents, and\/or witnesses to address acts of bullying, harassment, or discrimination. Possible interventions <\/em>include, but are not limited to, the following actions:<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Parent\/student conferences;<\/li>\n
      2. Offer of one-to-one counseling with appropriate professional staff;<\/li>\n
      3. Behavioral supports, such as Functional Behavioral Assessments, check in\/check out, and Positive Behavior Support Plans;<\/li>\n
      4. Increased adult supervision in hot spot areas and during transition times (e.g. admission and dismissal, classroom changes, lunch, recess);<\/li>\n
      5. Social skills training, including role playing;<\/li>\n
      6. Positive incentives and reinforcements for appropriate or improved behavior;<\/li>\n
      7. Development of a safety plan for the Complainant; and<\/li>\n
      8. Daily report.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Title IX Sexual Harassment<\/strong>
        \nConduct on the basis of sex, that satisfies one or more of the following:<\/p>\n
