Community Schools Corner
John H. Webster School became a community school in 2019. Ms. Shira Smillie joined Webster School as the Community School Coordinator in 2019. Ms. Smillie is responsible for bringing more resources and programs to Webster and ensuring that the community can find the resources they need at Webster school.
Thus far Ms. Smillie has worked to bring a Adult Basic Education class for Harrowgate residents to Webster as well as a literacy based drama club for fourth and fifth grade students at Webster. Ms. Smillie also helps to coordinate the new mural that Webster will be located in the main hallway of Webster.
