SDP Operations Staff Launch “Eagles Spirit Days”

The School District of Philadelphia is proud to announce the launch of Eagles Spirit Days, a new initiative to celebrate students and show gratitude to the Super Bowl LII and LIX champions the Philadelphia Eagles organization, and the Jalen Hurts Foundation for their continued investment in Philadelphia schools. Spirit Days will be hosted at a different school before each Eagles game this season, with Operations Division staff joining students and staff in spirited Eagles cheers that will be shared across District social media channels using #OpsForTheBirds and #FlyEaglesFlySDP.
The Eagles and quarterback Jalen Hurts have made extraordinary contributions to support school communities across Philadelphia.
“These contributions go beyond facilities improvements. They are investments in the health, well-being, and safety of our students as outlined in Accelerate Philly, our five year strategic plan,” said Tony B. Watlington, Sr., Ed.D., Superintendent of the School District of Philadelphia. “Through Eagles Spirit Days, we will thank the Eagles organization and The Jalen Hurts Foundation while giving our students a chance to celebrate the team that gives so much back to them.”
The Eagles and the Jalen Hurts Foundation have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to Philadelphia’s children through both classroom resources and community-building projects. Eagles Spirit Days will show appreciation for that tradition by connecting the excitement of football to the District’s core value of creating joyful, welcoming learning environments, all while lifting up the essential work of the Operations Division.
“The partnership between the Eagles, Jalen Hurts, and our schools is about creating opportunities and joy for students inside and outside the classroom,” added Teresa Fleming, Chief Operating Officer of the School District of Philadelphia. “From cooler classrooms to vibrant playgrounds, their support helps our students thrive!”
The Eagles Spirit Day kicked off at Stephen Decatur School on September 5, 2025 to coincide with the NFL’s Character Playbook event. The remaining events will be hosted at schools across the city at 10 a.m. before each game of the 2025 season. Students, staff, and Operations team members will be encouraged to wear their Eagles gear and show their pride.
