Dear School District of Philadelphia Families,
I am writing to share an important update about our 2027-28 Find Your Fit School Selection Process. On August 18, the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) informed school districts across the Commonwealth that the release of official statewide PSSA and Keystone assessment results, which had been expected in August, is on hold while PDE completes its review of preliminary data. PDE has shared that this review is necessary to ensure schools and families receive the most accurate and reliable information.
Because these results are an important part of the School Selection Process, we are adjusting our application timeline to ensure families have access to official, verified 2026 assessment data when making their school choices.
Updated School Selection Timeline:
The District will change the application window from September 8 – October 30 to October 5 – November 24.
We know that changing the timeline may require families to adjust their plans, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.
What Families Need to Know:
Applicants will use their 2025 assessment data and official 2026 assessment data as part of the School Selection Process.
Once the verified 2026 PSSA and Keystone results are released by PDE later this fall, District staff will contact all applicants to assist them with submitting their scores. Families do not need to take any action regarding their 2026 assessment scores at this time. During this extended timeline, I encourage families to continue exploring options, learning about schools and programs, and preparing for the application process.
