Dear Applicant,

The School District of Philadelphia’s Find Your Fit school selection application for the 2026-2027 school year is open for one more week. As such, we want to make all families aware of the resources that are available to help applicants complete the school selection application and share some important tips as we quickly approach the closing of the application period.

If you are considering participating in school selection, please use these resources before you apply!

• Application Assistance Labs: The Find Your FitSchool Selection team is offering Application Assistance Labs at schools across the city for families during the application window. Please visit the school selection website for the hours and locations of upcoming labs.
• How-To-Guides: The How-To-Guides are step-by-step documents that describe various actions that families will need to take when completing an online application. The guides with language translations can be found here.
• School Selection Town Halls: Watch the school selection town hall recording to learn more about the overall school selection and application process.
• New School Search Tool: Our new, user-friendly school search tool, called Explore, provides comprehensive information about each school.
• Criteria-Based and Citywide High School Open Houses: Visit schools in-person and virtually, meet the staff, and learn more about the school culture. View the list of upcoming open houses here.
• 2026-2027 High School Directory: The 2026-2027 High School Directory is also available, which provides a complete list of the various high school programs and experiences within our District and their locations. Students can search the directory to find the academic, school specialty, athletic, extracurricular, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs available at each high school across Philadelphia.

Additional Important Information

The school selection application closes on October 23 at 11:59pm. Since the deadline is just one week away, we encourage everyone to act urgently to complete the application as soon as possible. This is particularly important for:

• Applicants who need to upload supporting documents as part of their application.. Extra time may be needed to obtain the required documents for upload. Therefore, we recommend obtaining the required supporting documentation no later than October 21, to ensure adequate time to complete and submit the application before the October 23 application deadline.
• Parents/guardians who have yet to set up a parent portal account. It can take up to 48 hours for a new portal account to activate. So again, we recommend signing up for the parent portal no later than October 20. If you do not sign up for a new account by then, the only way to access the school selection application will be through your child’s student portal.
