Dear School District of Philadelphia Families,
The School District of Philadelphia’s Find Your Fit school selection process gives students currently in pre-kindergarten through 11th grade the opportunity to apply to attend a District school outside of their assigned neighborhood (catchment) school for the next school year, if space is available.The Find Your Fit school selection process for the 2027-2028 school year opens on September 8, 2026 at 4:00 pm and closes on October 30, 2026 at 11:59 pm.
As you prepare for this year’s school selection process, here are some important updates for the 2027–2028 school year:
- Grade requirements have been updated to consider final grades in English Language Arts (or Reading), Math, and Science only.
- Career and Technical Education (CTE) eligibility has expanded to include students who attended the District’s summer CTE program and are applying to a CTE program for the 2027-2028 school year.
- Zip code preference remains part of the school selection process. Families whose home address is within an eligible zip code may receive priority consideration for select schools. An updated list of eligible zip codes is available on the Find Your Fit school selection website.
- Kindergarten preference has been added to provide lottery priority for qualifying pre-K students seeking to enroll in the same school for kindergarten.
- Individualized Review has been expanded to allow more qualifying students applying to criteria-based middle and high schools to be considered. To learn more about eligibility requirements and theIndividualized Review process, visitthe Find Your Fit school selection website.
I also want to remind you about the importance of ranking your top five schools in order of preference. Offers are made based on the order in which applicants rank their school choices, their eligibility, and the seats available in each school, program, and grade.
