“Global Leadership Academy Charter School (GLA) is a Kindergarten through eighth grade school with three wonderful small learning communities located in West Philadelphia. GLA is a holistic teaching and learning environment. Our goal is to provide a solid educational program through global studies and leadership in an effort to develop future leaders of the world.
Global Studies and Expeditionary Learning
As an expeditionary learning school we focus on real-world instructional opportunities. Our scholars have the opportunity to travel locally, nationally, and internationally throughout their K-8 experience. Learning is authentic and engaging, providing scholars with the experiences to broaden their worldview and foster empathy.
Extended School Day and Extended School Year Model
GLASW is a year-round school model. Intersessions are scheduled every thirteenth week of the school year. During this time tutoring and other activities are available for scholars to enhance their academic skills and allow them to participate in extra-curricular activities.
GLASW seeks to develop in every K-8 scholar an awareness of his or her own leadership potential and to create a spirit of leadership in the GLASW community.
