“To educate all students in methods that encourage creativity, support problem solving, and produce life-long learners. We believe that how one learns is as important as what one learns. At Inquiry Charter School, we believe that all students, teachers, and community members are learners.”
We use Readers and Writers Workshop for literacy instruction. This differentiated approach allows children to choose their own books that are on their level to practice and improve their reading skills. This method is both more engaging and more impactful.
The science curriculum is thematic. Each grade has a life science focus and ventures to Fairmount Park for weekly 90 minute science lessons. These lessons are student driven and inquiry based.
Our values are curiosity, generosity, and growth. They are celebrated at a weekly school wide meeting. Additionally, we use the Responsive Classroom approach to teaching which emphasizes academic, social, and emotional growth in a strong school community.
Our school values a healthy and active lifestyle. Meals are nutritious. Students have a weekly gym class in addition to 30 minutes of recess in grades 2nd- 4th and 60 minutes in K4 – 1st grade each day.
