Our Staff

Instructional Technology Integration Specialists (TISs)

Technology Integration Specialists (TISs) are certified teachers who provide coaching and support to teachers on integrating technology in instruction, in order to increase student engagement, collaboration and critical thinking. They also provide professional development and training on District technology initiatives. When needed, they can also offer consulting advice on purchasing hardware/software and technology planning.

TISs provide content-specific and standards-driven integration of technology, including, but not limited to, the following:

  • G Suite for Education tools including Google Drive, Docs and Classroom
  • Interactive Displays (SMART, Promethean) and the SMART Learning Suite (Notebook, AMP, etc)
  • District-approved blended learning programs
  • Hardware: Chromebooks, Macbooks, iPads
  • Web applications
  • District web resources and systems
  • More

TISs are not Tech Support and will forward all tech support questions to the I.T. Helpdesk. The primary role of the TIS is to coach teachers to better integrate technology as a tool to improve learning outcomes through student-engagement and collaboration.

Technology Integration Coaches (TICs)

Technology Integration Coaches (TICs) are certified teachers who support the District-wide deployment of SMART Boards to classrooms through job-embedded teacher coaching and through leading professional development sessions. Although their primary support is with SMART Boards, TICs work with teachers to meet instructional needs using all technology tools in their classrooms.

Technology Program Specialists (TPSs)

Technology Program Specialists (TPSs) are experienced educators who work centrally to design professional development and lead technology initiatives, and in schools to provide embedded coaching to teachers in their classrooms on integrating technology in instruction, in order to increase student engagement, collaboration and critical thinking.
