The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) requires school districts to conduct a follow-up survey with graduates of their Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. The 2025 graduate follow-up survey asked whether CTE graduates from the class of 2024 had enrolled in college, continued to work or train in their CTE field of study, or pursued other activities.

Out of 1,082 CTE students who provided their contact information on the Senior Exit Survey, 318 students participated in the CTE Follow-up Survey, representing a 29% response rate.

Key findings include:

  • A lower percentage of CTE respondents from the class of 2024 were enrolled in school the first fall after graduating high school compared to the class of 2023 (65% vs. 74%, respectively).
  • Among CTE graduates in the class of 2024 who responded to the survey, 46% of those enrolled in college and 65% of those not enrolled in college were working part-time or full-time.
  • Of respondents who were working part-time or full-time, 33% of those enrolled in college and 27% of those not enrolled were employed in a job directly or closely related to their CTE field of study.
