Statement on Franklin Towne Charter High School
PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 4, 2026 — “In 2023, our Charter Schools Office raised serious concerns about admissions practices at Franklin Towne Charter High School. Following its review of the school’s admissions data over four years, the Charter Schools Office recommended that the Board approve a Notice of Revocation based on alleged violations of the Pennsylvania Charter School Law and the school’s charter agreement. That notice was approved and has not been withdrawn by the Board.”
“The Board is committed to striving for fair and equitable access to public education for all Philadelphia students. We will continue to uphold the standards and requirements that apply to all public schools and to take action when there are concerns about compliance with those requirements.”
