Important Message about School Selection – January 20, 2023
Dear school selection applicant,
We appreciate your patience and know you have been eagerly waiting for the results of the school selection process for the 2023-2024 school year. School selection lottery results are now available! Please click the following link for: “Directions for Viewing School Selection Result”.
Many of you indicated the response time after the initial offer was too short. In response to your feedback we are extending the deadline for you to respond to your lottery offer. You now have seven (7) days to make a final decision. You will also be able to see your position on any waitlists at that time. Your final selection of a school must be submitted by Friday, January 27th, by 5:00 PM. OFFERS STILL PENDING WILL AUTO-DECLINE AT 5:00PM ON FRIDAY JANUARY 27, 2023. Please read all the information below before taking action in your application when results become available.
What do you need to know?
THE LAST DAY TO CONFIRM YOUR DECISION TO ACCEPT AN OFFER FOR A SCHOOL PLACEMENT IS FRIDAY, JANUARY 27, 2023, BY 5:00 PM.
DO NOT SELECT THE “DECLINE” BUTTON UNLESS YOU ARE CERTAIN YOU DO NOT WANT TO ATTEND THAT SCHOOL. Once you hit the ‘Decline” button, that school option will no longer be available to select. Do not click “Decline” if you think you may change your mind before the deadline on Friday, January 27, 2023, by 5:00 PM.*** A declined decision becomes FINAL once declined.
During the response phase, students will be able to change the offer they are ACCEPTING as many times as they would like by following the steps in the “Directions for Viewing School Selection Results” guide, as long as the “Decline” button is not selected for any school to which the student received an offer.
You must affirmatively accept an offer. If your child does not accept an offer before the January 27, 2023, by 5:00 PM deadline AND does not choose to accept any waitlist offer (waitlist offers will be shared after the close of the response phase and will be ongoing), those offers, including waitlist offers, will be considered declined.

- For questions or concerns with the school selection process or offer status: The Office of Student Enrollment and Placement (215-400-4290, schoolselect@philasd.org) is available to support students and families and will have extended phone hours from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM on January 20, 2023. Regular hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
- For technical issues with accessing your application: The Family Tech Hotline (215-400-4444, FamilyTechSupport@philasd.org) will have extended phone hours from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM on January 20, 2023. Regular hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
