We are committed to the continuous growth of all District teachers through ongoing professional development and coaching to ensure that students have access to an excellent public education.

Our team provides specific supports for novice teachers and new teachers to the District that include Induction, New Hire Orientation, and coaching through the Peer Assistance and Review program. We also coordinate and facilitate professional learning opportunities as well as job-embedded coaching supports for teachers at all levels of experience.

Recruitment Flyer (Academic Coaches)

Academic Coaches provide peer coaching and they support teachers rated Needs Improvement as well as second year teachers who were recommended for additional support by the PAR Panel. Coaching support is customized to meet the needs of the teacher and may include modeling, co-teaching, co-planning, data collection, and real-time feedback in the classroom. Academic Coaches engage with a variety of school-based stakeholders to support development of teachers on their caseload. Additionally, Academic Coaches are responsible for creating and designing data-driven Performance Improvement Plans (PIP).

Consider joining the Office of Teaching and Learning as a Consulting Teacher on the Middle School or High School team! As a peer coach, you will support teachers in the District’s Peer Assistance and Review program. The role features the opportunity to make your own schedule, engage in high-quality professional development, and to expand the positive impact you have on students in the District.
