Looking for fun ways to expand your mind and keep your summer fresh and engaging—even indoors? The Free Library has a Summer of Wonder experience for you!

What’s Your Story?

From artistic inspiration to STEAM building projects, from writing groups to world exploration, connect with your favorite library activities, or try something brand new! Bonus: Participating in Summer of Wonder helps prevent out-of-school learning loss for kids and teens known as the “summer slide.”

How Do I Participate?

From June 1 – August 31, kids, teens, and adults, can sign up online to earn points and badges with your reading and book reviews, and by taking part in this season’s new projects, games, and virtual events! Sign up for one of our 2-3 week focused mini-challenges! Open to all ages and groups.

From June 14 – August 13, check with your neighborhood library to find Summer of Wonder passports to help you track your reading and activities over the summer and win prizes.

To find programs for all ages, including storytimes, book clubs, maker programs, language conversation groups, professional development, and mutual aid events, check-in regularly with our Events Calendar for fun activities to help your mind stay curious and active all summer long!

You can also find weekly live virtual programs for children and teens on the Youth Services and Programs Facebook page on Thursdays at 11:00 a.m. beginning June 10. For up to date resources, programs, and events for kids, teens, families, and educators, follow Youth Services on FacebookInstagram, or Twitter, or sign up for our newsletter to get emails with activities, tips, and resources.

Need more ideas to fill your summer with fun? Check out our Summer of Wonder Hub to find all of our activities from this summer and past years, as well as read-aloud guides, videos, and more!
