The Office of Facilities is in the process of developing a plan to upgrade the air conditioning status of our school buildings. This plan categorizes buildings as follows:

  • Buildings that have sufficient electrical capacity to support the installation of additional window units
  • Buildings that will require a full electrical service upgrade before additional window units can be installed
  • Buildings that should be recommended for a full mechanical plant update to provide for centralized air conditioning

The team is conducting a comprehensive and holistic evaluation of each building, taking into consideration factors such as the current conditions of the HVAC systems, to determine the best approach to provide cooling throughout the building. In addition, the team is also identifying any immediate improvements that can be made while simultaneously implementing those improvements.
