The EAT.RIGHT.NOW. (ERN) program delivers nutrition education to all eligible public and charter schools in The School District of Philadelphia (SDP). ERN is funded by the Pennsylvania (PA) Department of Public Welfare through PA Nutrition Education Tracks (PA TRACKS), a part of the United States Department of Agriculture’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

The PA TRACKS initiative seeks to improve the nutrition and physical activity behaviors of SNAP participants across the state. In fiscal year (FY) 2015, ERN programming was delivered in approximately 300 Philadelphia public and charter schools encompassing grades K-12, implemented by six community partners: SDP, Drexel University, Health Promotion Council, Albert Einstein Medical Center, The Food Trust, and the Urban Nutrition Initiative. The 2014-2015 school year marks the sixteenth year of operation for ERN within SDP.

This report evaluates the effects of ERN’s widespread program activities and their alignment with PA TRACKS objectives for FY 2015 and offers recommendations to enhance future program planning and implementation.
