This brief summarizes kindergarteners’ Fall 2018 results for the two scientifically validated KEI dimensions – Emerging Academic Competencies (which measures skills such as recognizing letters and counting and identifying shapes) and Learning Engagement Competencies (which includes emotional and behavioral regulation, approaches to learning, and physical control of body movements).
