Academic Parent-Teacher Teams (APTT) is a family engagement program aimed at addressing family-school partnerships by improving parent-teacher conferences in a way that expands collaboration between school and home. The goal of an APTT meeting is to build rapport with families and to build their capacity to support their students in learning foundational literacy skills.

Funded by a grant from the William Penn Foundation, APTT is being piloted in eight School District of Philadelphia (SDP) schools. This 19-page brief, the first report of a two-year evaluation, focuses on the relationship between parent participation in APTT and changes in student literacy outcomes at those eight schools.
