As part of an ambitious vision for mathematics equity and achievement, in 2023-24 the School District of Philadelphia adopted Illustrative Math (IM) as the district-wide K-12 math curriculum. The Office of Research and Evaluation (ORE) is conducting a three-year evaluation of the curriculum implementation. The Year 1 evaluation report can be found here.

In Year 2 of the IM curriculum implementation (2024-25), the Office of Research and Evaluation conducted focus groups, interviews, and surveys to answer the question: Do teachers, teacher leaders, school leaders, and central office support staff believe Illustrative Math is being implemented with integrity? What are the successes/challenges to implementing with integrity?

The findings and recommendations presented in this deck were reviewed in close collaboration with the Curriculum Implementation Team, who used the results to further strengthen implementation in Year 3.
