These four slide decks provide District-level overviews of student performance on the Winter 2020-21 aimswebPlus and Star assessments in ELA/Literacy and Math.

AimswebPlus Literacy assesses pre-literacy skills such as letter recognition, letter sounds, and blending in kindergarten; oral reading fluency in first grade; and identification of common words, oral and silent reading fluency, and reading comprehension in second through fifth grade. Performance on this assessment is a leading indicator for Goals 1 and 2.

AimswebPlus Math assesses emerging numeracy skills, such as number recognition in kindergarten; number pair comparisons and math facts in first grade; and mental computation, triad number comparisons, and math concepts in second through fifth grade. Performance on this assessment is a leading indicator for Goal 3.

Star Reading assesses students’ skills in vocabulary, reading comprehension, analyzing literary text, understanding author’s craft, analyzing arguments, and evaluating text, and is administered to students in grades 6-12. Performance on this assessment is a leading indicator for Goal 1 (grades 6-8) and Goal 4 (grades 9-12).

Star Math assesses students’ skills in numbers and operations, algebra, geometry and measurement, and data analysis, statistics, and probability, and is administered to students in grades 6-12. Performance on this assessment is a leading indicator for goals 3 (grades 6-8) and 4 (grades 9-12).
